Please translate this article into English. It’s very important. Many Chinese (including myself) and Western don’t understand why Tibet riots came out. Now here is the reasons. Cited from:
    http://city.udn.com/3011/2812426

Some students in Germany has already translated it. Thanks.

From What I have read here, This blog is just another Chinese Communist Party mouthpiece. I bet this won’t even get posted. Why is this blog so anti American. It is amazing how many Chinese are in America and want to say anti–American things and promote The Chinese Communist Party. Give me a break. You don’t see Americans writing these blogs in China against the Chinese government. You have freedom in America, if you don’t like it you should go back to China! I think that all Chinese student unions and Confucius Institutes should be banned in America. Just a bunch of spies stealing our things and trying to take over our country. Americans are getting wise to the Chinese and illegal aliens from Mexico . Legislation is being passed. Who you gonna blame then, Falun Gong?Always you people talking some stuff about Falun Gong and the Dahlai Lama. America helps everybody, you don’t like it, go back to China and see if you can get a decent education or a degree that matters. All Americans know why the rest of the world want to come here, right! If America closes her doors what you gonna do then? Beg Hu Jintou for mercy?

    • Laowai

Actually, If an American made a blog in China criticizing the Chinese government, it would probably be deleted (“harmonized”) from the internet.

  10. NPR

    Lyn Bailey,

I feel pity for you, another ignorant and brainwashed American.

“America helps everybody”? — sounds to me you still believe in fairy tale of heroic knight and evil villain .

I bet you’ve never been to anywhere other than North America or Europe. Please come out of your small town. Open your eyes and See the world.
You’re welcomed to visit other places, and even write blogs in China against the Chinese government, as many of the Westerners do.
I will not shout at you – go back to America! (em…come to think of it, this land actually truly belongs to native Indians, if you know the history).

Fortunately, many American people are not as shallow, racist and arrogant like you. They study history, search the truth and embrace other cultures. They are the hope of this country.

  11. kiwian

Holy cow, she actually said “America helps everybody”!? Right after “Americans are getting wise to the Chinese and illegal aliens from Mexico . Legislation is being passed.” Wow, that’s… helpful.

I’m not sure what we’ll do “if America closes her doors “, perhaps go on living, out here, in “the rest of the world”?? It’s incredible to me that so many Americans seem to think that the rest of us revere them and cower in awe before their mighty country. Do you even know where my country is? No, because you’re so busy feeling revered. Anyone who refers to their own country as “she” in normal conversation kinda scares me. Just because you don’t know anything other than your little world does not mean that it’s the only one there.

NPR, I like the way you still have the presence of mind in the face of that to mention that not all American people are this arrogant – it’s mostly the loud ones. Like when we Westerners think about Chinese, we tend to (erroneously) think of Americans as blindly arrogant, xenophobic and racist, however most are lovely, normal people. It’s a comfort to the rest of us to know that people like you do still seek the truth and “embrace other cultures”.

  12. one who wants to remain unknown

I am impressed with this blog for the moment. I really appreciate the translation about Tibet rising against China. I don’t quite understand the history behind it all and have not yet formed an opinion. I know many Chinese people and know they have strong opinions about the issue. I hope to learn more about the facts and truths behind the history and maybe come to my own educated opinion.

  13. Jennifer

Another ignorant brainwashed American huh? I suppose that is coming from another ignorant brainwashed Chinese?

  14. well well

    Ladies (yeah, Lyn and Jennifer)

Please don’t jump to accuse others for being brain-washed. At least in Canada, we don’t tell people to go back to where they came from once they disagree with the mainstream opinion. That’s why we have multi-culturism and you don’t. Perhaps you don’t realize another thing, the Chinese that criticized Dalai and Falung Gung here don’t mean that they will not criticize CCP either. Your line of thinking just illustrates you are no better than CCP. At least Mao did allow Tibetans to keep their religion even he was an atheist.

Do some researches on Dalai’s history and FLG as well, otherwise, you will just be another Sharon Stone.

  15. kiwian

Did you just say Canada has multi-culturalism but America and China do not? …that doesn’t seem right.

  16. A Chinese

    Dear Lyn and Jennifer,
I’m a Chinese and I’ve been to many countries(Europe, North America, the Middle East) and I think at least I know a bit about the other countries. I have to say you are so pathetic that you two deserve to be doomed in your own small world (We should “go back to China?” Well, you have nowhere to go but to return to your little narrow-minded corner). China is huge, things need to be discovered; as a Chinese I cannot say I know everything about China and of course I don’t know too much about your country, but I definitely don’t think you know anything about my country. By the way, do you two have passports and how far have you travelled? Have you been to Canada yet and do you know anything about ethinicity and religion? GIVE ME A BREAK. I’m glad to see there are open-minded people her but I’m worried you will never be one of them, so do your kids, and your grandkids… SAD. I would shut up and do some research first rather than come out and say something so pitiful. Excuse me, please remind me why we want to come to America? Economy crisis? Greasy food? Gunshots?

  17. I like the information and the wide range of topics you have here. I have started a blog, and if you have time, I would be happy to receive feedback.

    take care, Kathy

  18. B.BarNavi

I know what this blog is “about”. It’s a CCP propaganda front designed to demonize Tibet. Shame on you – we see right through.

    • terminator

      @B.BarNavi

Hmm, a CCP propaganda front based on US and western academic studies and media, very interesting point of view…

    • via.faenza

Tsk tsk tsk… B.BarNavi. How wise are you! Now go find a way to cure cancer, or globe warming, or just try get out to see the world one street at a time…

  19. Zhang

    Don’t bother.

Most of Americans are so brainwashed that they can’t think straight. Just let it be and accept it as a fact.

  20. madmod

What a joke, Chinese propaganda it is no more real than the American propaganda .. LOL it is all propaganda!! China invaded Tibet, America invaded more countries than I can count.. neither is right, invasions are just oppressions..

  21. Petr Janecek

Hello, I’m from Czech Republic. I know just one thing…communism is a poison. Viva la chinoise pacifique culturel revolution.

  22. Laowai

Hi all, I am an American studying Chinese. I actually found this blog by searching on the internet for the article on Tibet posted above. One of my teachers sent it to me as reference material on the Tibet issue (I gave a presentation in class that was not received well by the Chinese present). I think that Chinese views on many politically sensitive issues are underrepresented in America, so I am very happy to find an English site posting the Chinese side of things, even if I do not agree (I mean, come on guys, the Dali Lama preaches peace and harmony, do you really think that he skins children and works for the CIA? I mean that’s kinda out there). Hopefully we can learn some from each other. I think that the different viewpoints that Chinese and Americans have on many issues regarding China have a number of political and cultural reasons, and if we work together as opposed to attacking everything the other side says, perhaps we can find some common ground and work from there to understand the truth behind these issues.

Sinomania (www.sinomania.com) is dead, but it also has an interesting comment on Tiananmen. Look at http://www.cy.gov.tw‘s history page! (It is the Control Yuan page) It proves Tibet was and still is part of China, in 1948!
